Hybrid/High Torque Stepper Motors

TelcoMotion’s conventional hybrid and high torque stepper motors come in many different frame sizes: NEMA11, NEMA14, NEMA 17, NEMA 23, and NEMA 34. Step angle configurations come in options of 0.9 and 1.8 degrees. As with every component we design, you can expect nothing less than exceptional performance from our hybrid stepper motor systems. In addition to high efficiency and low noise levels, they provide maximum holding torque for the most demanding industrial applications.

Product Features

What makes a hybrid or high torque stepper motor a great stepper motor? The answer is simple: quality construction and design.
We purpose-build our stepper motor systems to deliver cutting-edge features that can make a world of difference in the medical devices and vehicles that use them.

Ultra-Precise Step Angle Movements

Whether you choose a step angle of 0.9 degrees or 1.8 degrees, you can rest assured your motor can perform ultra-precise movements consistently.

Multiple Hybrid Stepper Motor Frame Sizes

TelcoMotion can accommodate NEMA 11 to NEMA 34 hybrid and high torque stepper motor frame sizes.

High Torque

Our NEMA stepper motor systems can reach torque levels as high as 40,000 g-cm (556 oz-in).

Custom Housings and Integrations

While you may want your hybrid stepper motor to be low noise and durable, there’s also something to be said about customization.

TelcoMotion offers a variety of options in this regard, including:

  • Integrated electronics
  • Encoders
  • Gearboxes
  • Gearbox sub-assemblies

Hybrid/High Torque Stepper Motors FAQ

A hybrid stepper motor is a type of electric motor that combines the best features of both permanent magnet and variable reluctance motors. It has increased efficiency, torque, and speed while also having low power consumption. Hybrid stepper motors can be found in many applications, such as medical, aerospace, and robotics. In the medical field, hybrid stepper motors are used in surgical robots to perform precise movements for surgeries.
PM stepper motors are typically used for applications that require low-cost, low-precision output. They have a wider step angle than hybrid and high torque stepper motors, making them easier to manufacture and less precise. The output power from a PM stepper is much lower than the hybrid or high torque models. Hybrid stepper motors use a combination of permanent magnets and variable reluctance motors, allowing for more precise control over the speed and torque output. They are also more efficient than permanent stepper motors as they generate less heat.
You can expect a well-built and properly maintained hybrid stepper motor to last between 7,000 and 20,000 hours of use.
Hybrid and high torque stepper motors from TelcoMotion are valued by the industry for their reliability and consistency of operation. The accuracy of a hybrid stepper motor is determined by the number of steps per revolution, with higher steps per revolution providing greater levels of control and precision. This is ideal for applications in robotics, where accuracy is paramount
